Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 16GB Offered On eBay For Only $160: But There's A Catch
Have you been looking to get a new Samsung tablet? You're in luck as the 16GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is now on sale on eBay.
Earlier in September, the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab A went on sale for $215 on eBay from the same retailer.
For those who are looking to snag the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A being offered on eBay, one simply needs to shell out $159.99 for the tablet. Originally, the tablet was listed for $229.99 but now the seller QuickShip Electronics is offering a 30 percent discount.
If you're thinking the deal is too good to be true to not have a caveat you're right - there is a catch. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 being offered is an open box item. While the tablet will come in the original box packaging, the seller disclaims that the box of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 may be "lightly distressed."
"This item shows virtually no signs of use. It includes the original package (which may be lightly distressed) and the original OEM accessories," according to the seller notes.
The good bit is that you will get a warranty which is valid for a year. Therefore, in the event the 8-inch Galaxy Tab A on offer faces any issue, you always have the warranty to fall back on.
To re-jog your memory, the Galaxy Tab A has a metal chassis and sports an 8-inch PLS TFT display with a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels. It was launched in March this year.
Under the hood, the tablet packs in a Quad-Core Qualcomm APQ 8016 processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz and 1.5GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 also has a 5MP primary camera and a 2MP front-facing camera for selfie lovers. The tablet is available in 16GB and comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. It houses a powerful 4,200mAh battery which offers up to 13 hours of Internet usage.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Development Might Be Complete By December, Thanks To Agile Methodology

Samsung Galaxy S7 Development Might Be Complete By December, Thanks To Agile Methodology
The launch of Samsung Galaxy S7 is not expected until early next year but rumors about the flagship device have already started emerging. Using a new methodology, the development of the Galaxy S7 is estimated to be completed by December this year.
A report from Korean publication Asia Today suggests that Samsung is giving way to the old "Waterfall" method and is adopting the more productive "Agile" method of developing devices.
The new method breaks various aspects of a device development in small parts. When one module is finished then it is tested subsequently to make the overall process quicker. With the Agile system the development plan can also be changed slightly.
On the other hand, the Waterfall method follows a precise plan of development and does not have any room for alterations when a stage is completed.
The launch of a new Galaxy S series handset is a big event. The Galaxy S6 and its predecessors have been welcomed well by smartphone enthusiasts and market gurus alike. Samsung will want that the Galaxy S7 attracts more customers to buy the phone.
Samsung has not let out any information on the Galaxy S7 and currently limited rumors are floating in the market about the flagship smartphone.
A previous Tech Times report highlighted that Samsung is testing two variants of the Galaxy S7: one running on Snapdragon chipset and the other on Exynos. However, the exact version of the chip to be used in the upcoming Samsung handset is yet to be confirmed.
Samsung normally launches a new handset in the Galaxy Note series during September but this year the company has preponed its "Unpacked" event to mid-August. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 5 at the event.
The smartphone maker also usually reveals a new phone in the Galaxy S series during February. However, if the smartphone is developed earlier by about one to two months, then Samsung may launch the Galaxy S7 sometime in January 2016.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Might Have Auto-Eject Feature For Its S Pen

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Might Have Auto-Eject Feature For Its S Pen
Samsung is reportedly on course and is busy prepping the next-gen avatar of its popular Galaxy Note series, the Galaxy Note 5. Now, word is that the impending Galaxy Note 5 phablet may boast a novel feature for its S Pen stylus: Auto-eject.
A patent application filed by Samsung (and published by the USPTO recently) is the source of the information, and it suggests that the Auto-eject option will be made available for the next-gen phablet, which is poised for a September release. The Auto-eject feature implies that Galaxy Note 5 users will not have to manually pull out the S Pen, instead it will be pushed out automatically by the smartphone.
The USPTO patent was spotted by Patently Mobile, and the publication reveals that the Auto-eject mechanism will work thanks to magnets.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5
The S Pen will apparently house a single magnet inside and the Galaxy Note 5 will also have one magnet. Both these magnets will attract each other when the stylus is placed inside the phablet. This will keep the S Pen locked inside the Galaxy Note 5. For those wondering how the S Pen will be auto-ejected, it has to do with simple physics. The polarization of the two magnets will be reversed so that they repel each other and, as a result, the S Pen "auto-ejects."
The next logical question is how Samsung will bring this polarization into effect. Samsung's patent suggests that the OEM is looking to key in a voice command or gesture control system that will work in tandem with the auto-eject feature.
Users will likely need to issue a voice command or draw a basic "shape gesture" that will propel the stylus into eject mode automatically.
"Since it is possible to automatically eject the touch pen only with a simple manipulation and/or command, it is easy to manipulate the electronic device with one hand, and since a separate locking device for confining the touch pen isn't needed, it is possible to enhance the usage convenience of the electronic device," revealed Samsung in the patent.
Alternatively, a possibility exists that Samsung may have a button to facilitate auto-ejection. With the Galaxy Note 5 anticipated to release at the IFA 2015 in Berlin in September this year, we will know if the unique auto-eject feature makes its way to the phablet.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5: Would come with bigger screen?

Samsung Galaxy Note 5: Would come with bigger screen?
Samsung Galaxy Note series is known for its massive configuration and the bigger display devices and last year with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Samsung defined the new high-end device configuration which was not only likes by the users, even different manufacturers are trying to overcome it. No doubt that now Users want bigger and bigger screens, is an overwhelming truth. It’s what you use your phone to primarily and increasingly consuming and, above all, create content. But if you are expecting even bigger display in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 then you might be wrong as the recent device in the series is already in its perfect shape and size, you should expect some design changes rather then the bigger display.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5
Everyone saw it coming for years, but Samsung was the one who risked and he was right. And for this reason there is none who overshadows today in the market of phablets and Samsung could be called as “pro”. This, coupled with its unique S-Pen, is the key to success of Galaxy Note range. And now Samsung is taking the Samsung Galaxy Note series to the infinite world of features and specifications and this revolution would begin with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date.

In terms of design, the recent Note 4 becomes separated slightly from the previous Note 3 in the wake of new and follows Galaxy Alpha (in this sense, the best part has led the Galaxy Note Edge). It is lightweight, small, powerful and above all, elegant. And, as in the Alpha, these are weapons that champion the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to head the list of his virtues. The Galaxy Note 4 back cover has a texture very similar to Note 3 (loses perimeter stitching design) and metal profiles that improve those of its predecessor, who wanted to pretend they were not. We have never criticized the plastic / polycarbonate finishes: if plastic is plastic, period. It is not therefore be better or worse phone. And with the first glimpse of the Galaxy Note 4 the truth is that what you see is what appears: metal that is metal and plastic is plastic, substantial improvement over its predecessor. But may be Samsung fans are expecting something more like whole metal body in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
In the present Samsung Note device, speaking of controls and physical buttons, the truth is that not presented anything new. Power button, volume controls, audio jack and a USB 2.0 connector are on their general position, so everyone would like to see a new design in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because people are bored to see the same standardized things. But the new launched Galaxy S6 could be considered as a surety for the new design, as Samsung has actually started following a new design and style scheme for its flagship, and we hope to see the same for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

China stocks have plunged 6% in two days

China stocks have plunged 6% in two days
Hong Kong (CNNMoney) —  China stocks suffered another round of heavy losses on Tuesday, renewing concerns over government efforts to support markets.
The Shanghai Composite shed 3.5% on Tuesday, bringing losses for the week to 6%. Declines have been even steeper on the smaller Shenzhen Composite, which has lost more than 11% over the past two trading sessions.
Late in the day, China's government announced a shakeup at the country's stock market regulator.
Zhuang Xinyi, a vice chairman at China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), has been removed from his post. His successor, Li Chao, most recently worked for China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
The significance of the personnel changes were not immediately clear, but the appointment of a currency expert could be a reaction to the flood of money leaving China in recent months as worries mounted over the stock market and economy.
The first signs of market trouble came in June when the Shanghai Composite peaked at more than 5,100 points, a gain of roughly 150% over the previous 12 months. The bubble burst and the index lost 32% of its value in just 18 trading sessions.
Beijing reacted forcefully. The People's Bank of China cut interest rates for the fifth time in nine months, regulators suspended new share listings, and threatened to throw short sellers in jail.
The CSRC, which polices the country's markets, organized the purchase of shares using cash supplied by the central bank. Much of the actual buying has been carried out by China's so-called "National Team," a group of state-backed investors, brokerages and funds.
Despite costing as much as $236 billion, the measures have failed to stop the slide, and the benchmark Shanghai index is now 42% below its June peak.
